What does a marketing consultant do for a small business?
A marketing consultant works out which marketing will actually bring a small business customers, then helps make it happen. That usually means reviewing what you already do, writing a plan sized to your budget, and either running the work (SEO, Google Ads, social media, content) or guiding your team through it.
How much does a marketing consultant cost in Sydney?
Sydney agencies typically charge $180 to $350 an hour. My prices are published: the first marketing audit is free and $90 after that, strategy starts at $100, social media management starts at $199 a month, and SEO at $350 a month. You get a fixed quote before any work starts. See full pricing.
Should I hire a freelance marketing consultant or an agency?
Hire a freelance consultant if you want to deal directly with the person doing the work, keep costs down and stay flexible. Hire an agency if you need several specialists working in parallel at high volume. Most small businesses and startups are better served by one experienced consultant. More on how I work.

Yes. Answer engine optimisation (AEO) structures your website so AI tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews can quote it, and generative engine optimisation (GEO) makes sure they describe and recommend your business correctly. It's part of SEO and AEO support from $350 a month.

Yes. Ninety minutes on your website and marketing channels, and a one-page write-up of the three things to fix first. It's yours to act on with or without hiring me. Audits after that are $90.
